Amélie Company Searches for Trendiest Cupcake in Denver:
Hosts Gourmet Bake Sale to Benefit Local Charity

Denver, CO – November 16, 2007 – Amélie Company, a Denver-based advertising, public relations and marketing agency, announces the agency is hosting the first annual “Trendy Cupcake Bake Sale for Charity” to benefit Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline Colorado.

Inspired by the popularity of high-end gourmet cupcakes on the east and west coasts, Amélie Company has launched a search for the most trendy cupcake in Denver. The idea is to encourage a friendly competition between local bakers and raise money for a local charity. Art Director Anita Ashfield-Salter explains, “Cupcakes are all the rage in places like New York and L.A. Store-front bakeries dedicated to cupcakes are sprouting up all over major metropolitan areas, but the craze is just starting to catch on here.” The design team at Amélie wanted to bring some of that trendiness to Denver by creating an outlet for local chefs to showcase their talents. Ashfield-Salter continues, “Once we started researching charities, we discovered that Share Our Strength hosts a nation-wide bake sale so it seemed like a perfect fit. They’re doing amazing work to try to end hunger.”

A baker’s dozen or so local pastry chefs will be donating cupcakes for the bake sale and competition coming up Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the lobby at 1670 Broadway, downtown Denver. “We recently marked the agency’s 5th anniversary and decided that the best way to celebrate our success was to pay it forward and do something to benefit others in our community,” commented Robin Ashmore, Amélie Company principal. “The idea of a bake sale seemed like a tasty way to get everyone in the agency involved. If we can raise awareness and money for a local charity - and have a great time doing it - then it’s a homerun for everyone.”
