Denver, CO – January 9, 2008 – Amélie Company, a Denver-based advertising, public relations and marketing agency, announces the agency has raised over $2,700 for Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline Colorado with their first annual “Trendy Cupcake Bake Sale for Charity” which was held in downtown Denver on Thursday, December 13th, 2007.
Inspired by the popularity of high-end gourmet cupcakes on the east and west coasts, Amélie Company launched the search for the most trendy cupcake in Denver to encourage a friendly competition between local bakers and raise money for Operation Frontline. Robin Ashmore, Amélie Company principal, adds, “We wanted to celebrate our agency’s 5th anniversary by doing something special for the community, while also having fun. The sale was such a great success we were fresh out of cupcakes in less than half the time we were planning to sell them! We’re thrilled that we were able to benefit a great charity like Operation Frontline.”
Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline Colorado funds nutrition education programs for at-risk kids and their families. “The official amount raised by Amélie Company was $2,705.10,” says Ruth Stemler, Director Operation Frontline Colorado. “100% of the money raised will be used here in the Denver program to purchase groceries for 8 Operation Frontline courses reaching approximately 100 hungry families. The groceries will be used as a demonstration in class and then given to the families so they can make the healthy recipes at home. In addition to the money raised through the bake sale, Amélie Company donated its agency creative and PR services for the event. Stemler adds, “Amélie generated so much positive exposure for our programs - more than we’re able to do on our own in one year’s time. We can’t thank them enough for this great idea and fun event – it was highly successful in every way!”
