Sparking enthusiasm for and connecting people over a shared experience—be it a product, service, place or idea—and then feeding that community is what drives me. It’s why I’ve gravitated towards social media as a dynamic and tremendous tool for community development and outreach. Its rapidly evolving landscape allows me to continuously test and push my investigation into different ways of connecting people. Sometimes, it results in the building of an amorphous audience you didn’t know existed, giving them a voice and an opportunity to rally behind a common cause. Or, it means giving a brand a personality and a channel through which to reach out directly to fans. Simply put, cutting through life’s chatter to bring people together is rewarding and gratifying.
